The newly opened Bark Bistro is an ideal pit stop for anyone walking along Newhall Valley, but it’s also well worth a dedicated visit.

You can pre-order for lunch on the go (something I’m going to be trying next week for sure) and with a range of jackets, salads, sandwiches and more all made fresh to order, the reviews so far are overwhelmingly positive.

A Slice Of Italy In Boldmere?

I was lucky (and greedy) enough to eat my weight in pizza last October when I visited Sicily. Now you might think that any pizza I have eaten before or after would be nowhere near as good…

Well, you’d be forgetting about the little foodie gem on Boldmere high street - Your Flamingo.

It’s so good in fact - it’s becoming our family traditional Christmas Eve hangout - which is one day of the year they only let in regulars.

Not been before? Fear not, the rest of the year you can book yourself a table. Hey - why not become a regular and I’ll see you there in 6 months maybe!

They have just launched a brand new menu Tues-Thur, have £10 selected pizzas on weekdays and also still have the best family deal in Sutton with their £30 4 person meal deal Tues-Sat (times vary).

It’s totally child friendly, has THE BEST customer service, and some seriously good pizza. My fave is the namesake Your Flamingo pizza which is made up of a Margherita Base, Rocket, Parma Ham, Olive Oil, Oregano, Parmesan Shavings on a homemade dough.

Belly Dancing Party In Mere Green

Taking place this Sunday at St James Church Centre on Mere Green Road (opposite Sainsbury’s) is a belly dancing party and it’s open for all. There will be a range of performers and you can bring your own drinks and food to share in true party fashion.

It starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 10pm. Tickets cost £6.50.
