The Art Of Wellness

I realised recently that I’ve been attending yoga classes at The Art of Wellness for over a year now - and I’ve enjoyed so many different experiences there that I felt I needed to write about it again.

The yoga classes remain a highlight of my week, held in such a warm and welcoming environment. Each session is unique, as Llewella tailors the practice to suit individual aches and needs, often intuitively sensing what we’re all craving that day.

I always leave feeling fully stretched, refreshed, and grounded - and I know many fellow yogis say it feels like a mini spa!

But The Art of Wellness isn’t just about yoga. They also host retreat days, art workshops, kids’ yoga and mindfulness sessions, and Llewella offers incredible massages too.

I’ve had the pleasure of attending one of the retreat days, which offered the perfect mix of movement, breathwork, relaxation, and pampering. I also took part in the Christmas candle-decorating and yoga workshop, a beautifully festive event that gave me a chance to pause and recharge during the busy holiday season.

Building Healthier Lives In Sutton Coldfield

Good Hope Hospital and Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council have organised a health talk for the local community.

The free talk, on Wednesday 11 June from 1.30-2.30pm, is called ‘Building Healthier Lives in Sutton Coldfield – being falls prepared’ and will offer a chance to listen to clinical experts on the topic of falls and mobility and ask questions.

Experts Julie Hunter, Group Director for Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) at University Hospitals Birmingham and Hospital Director for AHP’s at Good Hope Hospital, and Lorraine Garratty, Therapy Lead in Healthcare for Older People at Good Hope Hospital, will be delivering the talk.

There will also be an opportunity to try GaitSmart™, an innovative, motion-sensor, gait analysis, which offers personalised exercise plans to help improve mobility.

The talk takes place at the Trinity Centre, Church Hill, Mill St, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B72 1TF. Parking is available on site and the venue is easily accessible from both the railway station and nearby bus stops. Refreshments will be available.

Sutton Coldfield branch of NS(RAF) Association will be meeting on this upcoming Wednesday 11th June at around 11am at the Plough & Harrow in Slade Road Sutton Coldfield. The meeting will include a two course meal, speaker and a good chat with other ex RAF and WRAF Erks. Spouses and Partners are also very welcome. 

In addition to the monthly lunches there are other special events and many friendships have been formed.
