Good morning Royal Sutton Coldfield,
Welcome back to the only Sutton Coldfield newsletter that’s on the naughty list.
It’s all starting to feel very Christmassy as we hurtle in to December, and I make no apology for the fact that this edition is pretty Christmas heavy. On that theme, have you visited the Sutton Coldfield Christmas market yet? My 13 year old visited at the weekend with her friends followed by a trip to the Cinema and they loved it.
Don’t miss our What’s On section this week for even more festive events and some interesting non-festive ones too - remember, most of the titles of those events are clickable so you can find more details if you see something that takes your fancy.
Let’s find out what’s happening in the Royal Town this week…

SUTTON SPOTLIGHT
Verona Delights Once Again
One of the issues with having a birthday in December is that everywhere is booked up in advance and there’s Christmas party’s everywhere! Call me Scrooge if you like, but I like to keep it Christmas free on my birthday.
So this year instead of heading in to Birmingham to the likes of Opheem or Purnells (which I know is sadly no more) I opted for Verona in Boldmere - and what a great decision it was.
It was fully booked - no surprise there as it’s a great local Italian. But the atmosphere was spot on, the service exceptional and the food was sublime.
We ate like kings and queens and were fit to burst come the end - and I have to say, all very reasonably priced food and drink.
If you haven’t yet tried Verona (or big sister Romantica in Mere Green) then you’re missing out.
Now my Birthday is over I am going all in on Christmas so I’ll quite possibly be back soon to check out their Festive lunch menu that’s available Monday-Saturday 12-3pm right up until 23rd December.
